Perhaps Today Is the Day to Turn to God

Sometimes a person thinks about God for years.

They know that someday they should think more seriously about faith. Someday, open the Bible. Someday, begin to pray. Someday, speak to God sincerely.

But that “someday” is constantly postponed.

Today, there is work, worries, problems, plans, and fatigue. It seems that there will still be enough time. That one day the right moment will come, when life becomes calmer, thoughts clearer, and the heart more ready.

But perhaps the right moment is right now.

Perhaps today is the very day when it is worth turning to God.

Not when you find all the answers.

Not when all doubts disappear.

Not when your life becomes perfect.

But today.

Perhaps You Simply Need to Take the First Step

Sometimes it seems to us that we first need to change many things.

To become better.

To get rid of all the wrong habits.

To correct our mistakes.

To put our own lives in order.

And only then come to God.

But we do not come to God because we have already become good enough.

We come to Him precisely because we need Him.

With all our questions.

With all our fears.

With all our doubts.

With everything that we may be trying to hide even from ourselves.

God already knows.

And yet, He does not turn away.

He Hears

Perhaps you have not prayed for a long time.

Perhaps you do not even know where to begin.

You do not have to find the right words.

You do not need to speak beautifully.

A prayer can begin with a few simple words:

“God, I do not know how to turn to You. But I want to hear You.”

He hears.

He knows what is happening in your heart.

He knows your thoughts, your fears, your pain, and those questions to which you still have not found answers.

You can come to Him just as you are.

He Forgives

Perhaps it is your past that does not allow you to take this step.

Perhaps there are things that are painful to remember.

Mistakes that can no longer be changed.

Words that cannot be taken back.

Actions you are ashamed of.

Sometimes a person thinks that they have gone too far. That after everything that has happened, they can no longer simply turn to God.

But the Bible says:

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9

God’s forgiveness does not mean that our actions do not matter.

It means that our sin does not necessarily have to be the final word in our story.

God has forgiveness for the one who comes to Him.

He Accepts

Perhaps you think that you must first prove to God that you deserve His love.

But God’s grace does not have to be earned.

That is precisely why it is called grace.

We do not come to God with a list of our own merits.

We come to Him with empty hands.

And it is precisely there that something new begins.

Not because we have become perfect.

But because God is ready to accept the one who turns to Him.

Perhaps Today

Perhaps you opened these words by accident.

Or perhaps you have long felt that you need to take this step.

You do not have to wait for a special moment.

You do not have to understand everything first.

You can simply turn to God.

Today.

Now.

Tell Him what is in your heart.

Ask Him your questions.

Tell Him about your pain.

Acknowledge your mistakes.

Ask Him to lead you.

Perhaps this prayer will consist of only a few words.

But sometimes a few sincere words can become the beginning of a journey that changes an entire life.

He hears.

He forgives.

He accepts.

Perhaps today is the very day when it is worth turning to God.
